Welcome to August, Taurus! Last month asked you to reflect on how you can help move things forward toward a better future. On Monday, August 3, there is a full moon in humanitarian Aquarius. This potent full moon unleashes the inner rebel in you. We are fighting racism and protecting one another from a pandemic, and it’s important that you step outside of your comfort zone. Aquarian energy asks you to speak out against injustice and white supremacy. If you have been doing the work and it’s time for your allies and accomplices to take the burden from you, step back to nurture yourself, which is in and of itself a radical act.
You are asked to challenge yourself further when unique Uranus goes retrograde from Saturday, August 15 to Friday, January 1 of 2021. Uranus is an oddball of a planet, and its retrogrades can make you a better person, and this one, which is in your sign, will affect you even more than usual. Right now many of us are questioning what it means to live in a capitalist society. There is no going back to how your life used to look before the pandemic, and while some of these changes have been shocking — even terrifying — change can sometimes also be a good thing. Uranus retrograde asks you to evaluate how you determine your self-worth. What makes you the happiest, and what work do you find value in? It’s hard to look underneath the labels society puts on us, but it’s time to do so.
While it’s difficult to come out from under the weight of certain labels (including our job titles), it’s crucial work. It’s also crucial work to talk to our loved ones while we reexamine our lives. Many of us have relatives or friends with outdated, problematic, and racist viewpoints. During the new moon in bold Leo on Tuesday, August 18, you are called to have those difficult conversations. It’s also important to address your own needs, too. Don’t be afraid to set boundaries when necessary, ask white friends and family members to step in, and focus on self-care.
Taurus is known for loving leisure, but you’ve been busy this summer. Perhaps you took to the streets and attended anti-racism protests, became involved in local politics, or did grocery deliveries for those most impacted by COVID-19. When Virgo season begins on Saturday, August 22, take some time to turn inward. In tarot, Virgo is represented by the hermit card. You can continue to serve your community, just be sure to set aside some alone time if you can, as well. Take a bath, catch up on some reading or television, and recharge. The fight against systemic racism is ongoing, and you will be most of service to the causes you care about once you recharge and reflect. See you in September!

We know many of you may be feeling worried, frightened, or isolated right now. Although the stars don’t have answers to the multitude of questions running through all of our minds, astrology may at least provide some comfort during times of uncertainty. We urge you to donate to one or all of these organizations if you’re able to; if you can’t, we created a guide to ways you can support the BLM movement other than financially.
