Each character-based product in this collection, like the Phoebe Palette, is designed to provide you with that character’s signature look. “We looked at each character in detail — what they wear, their mannerisms, the makeup they use, the personalities — and started to build from there,” says Revolution Beauty founder Adam Minto. “The products take on the life of each character in a really immersive way.”
With the eye shadow and lipstick shades alone, Revolution really nailed the embodiment of the show and the ’90s in general. They kind of had to — it’s not every day a beauty brand (or any brand) gets this opportunity from the Friends franchise. “We are the only beauty brand that has been allowed to adapt the Friends font and logo into our own Revolution logo,” Minto explains. “But this was not about sticking a Friends logo on an existing Revolution product; this was about original shades, products, show-stopping merch, and playing on the details from the series.”
At this point, we don’t have to tell all you Friends fanatics to snag this collection while you can — we’ll take bets that you’ve already set a calendar reminder for September 14. What you should keep an eye out for, however, is a second installment, which Minto reveals is coming down the pike. “We don’t do things in halves,” he says.
